City Council looks for budget input

The last formal opportunity for citizens to have input into the budget process will be Tuesday, Feb. 12 at the City Council meeting.

The meeting begins at 5:15 p.m. in the council chambers in City Hall, 515 Clark Ave.

Workshop on ice fishing Feb. 9

Story County Conservation officials will sponsor a “How-to” Ice Fishing Workshop from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at McFarland Park.

The program will cover techniques and equipment, and participants will have a chance to practice after the discussion. Equipment and warm refreshments will be provided.

Participants are reminded to dress for the weather and bring a bucket or a stool for more comfortable sitting.

Photographer’s work on exhibit

The works of an award-winning photographer are on display until March 22 at the Story County Conservation Center.

The exhibit, titled “Quiet Beauty, Winter in Iowa,” is the work of Huxley resident Randy Hughes.

The center, located at McFarland Park, is open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
