LETTER:Time to get a sense of humor
February 12, 2002
After reading the first paragraph of Katie List’s article on the front page of Monday’s Daily, I thought it was an attempt at humor. The idea that three editors at the Daily could be fired for appearing in Toons seemed funny. After reading the remainder of the article it became apparent, unfortunately, that my first impression was in error. Something is seriously wrong when comments made in a publication solely devoted to humor are interpreted as being misleading to the public.
As to Tennessen, Weiskircher or Dennis’ comments affecting the public’s perception of the Daily, I felt the humor allowed me to better relate to the Daily and its staff. Any organization that can have a laugh at its own expense is better because of it. I hope Ms. Hauser will reconsider her decision to terminate the employment of these women.
