LETTER:Quality of staff not affected by Toons

John Anastos

Obviously I do not have the full story but from the article that appeared in the Daily today, there was no right to fire those three editors. I read the article in the Toons newspaper and never did it reflect even to the slightest degree about the quality of the Iowa State Daily or its staff. I can not possibly believe that anyone who read the Toons article had their views about the Daily skewed even to the slightest degree, unless thinking that the Daily staff appears to be a fun bunch of people.

Was this the opinion you feared was going developed about the staff? Since fun people obviously are appalling employees I can understand why they are no longer wanted on the staff. It seems like the right course of action to take with several employees who have one article written about them portraying the joking side of them, which was also published in a paper that is never to be taken seriously.

If I were you, I would highly reconsider the course of action I took with the editors. Some people are meant to be leaders because they know how to motivate others, but others are true leaders because they know how to handle a situation that never should have happened.
