LETTER:Angry letters lacking legitimate insights
February 18, 2002
While following the rise and fall of the opinion storm this week over the firing of the three Daily editors, I noticed a rapid degeneration in the quality of the arguments presented. It seems rational and legitimate concerns rapidly gave way to petty name-calling and outright personal attacks. This culminated in a new low on Wednesday with Daryl Jaeger’s utterly worthless insight as to what Andrea Hauser was like in high school.
If it is the desire of an opinion writer to effectively persuade and present their point of view, I think they will find a much more sympathetic audience when their comments are relevant and made in good taste.
