Oasis releases first single in two years

British pop band Oasis will release “The Hindu Times,” its first single in two years, in April. A subsequent album and world tour are expected in July. Oasis’ 1995 album “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?” is the second-best album in British history.

Spears to guest in `Sex and the City’

Pop princess Britney Spears will guest star in an upcoming episode of HBO’s popular “Sex in the City” sitcom. According to the New York Times, she will play a “man-eating temptress.”

More artists added to Grammy lineup

The ever-growing list of Grammy performers has again expanded to include the likes of Bob Dylan, Outkast, and violinist Joshua Bell. Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim, Mya and Pink will perform their hit “Lady Marmalade” from “Moulin Rouge.”

The 44th Annual Grammy Awards Ceremony will take place Feb. 27.

New music festival scheduled for April

The first-ever Beyond 2002 Super Festival is scheduled for April 12 through 14 at Bicentennial Park in Miami. Snoop Dogg, Outkast, Ludacris, Method Man, Ice-T, Slick Rick, Doug E. Fresh and Busta Rhymes are just a few of the artists who have confirmed that they will perform.

The festival will also include DJ and MC competitions and extreme sports.

In addition to rap performers, rock and electronic artists have also been signed on.

“Beyond 2002 is going to connect all the street-based cultures and show the spectrum of subcultures that have come out in the last 20 years,” said Ice-T in a statement.

Tickets, available via Ticketmaster, cost $65 for a single-day pass or $135 for a three-day pass. Over 100,000 people are expected to attend.
