McCartney spring tour announced

Former Beatle Paul McCartney, who released his latest solo album “Driving Rain” in November, will embark on a North American tour in April, followed by a European stint in May.

So far, the only information available is that the tour will begin in California and hit 14 American cities and one Canadian site.

Other details of the tour will be released soon.

In a statement McCartney said, “I’m very excited to be getting back on the road, playing with a new band and including in the show some songs that I haven’t played live before.”

Talking Heads lineup to perform

For the first time in over 10 years, the original members of the Talking Heads will reconvene for a concert on March 18 for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in New York. Viewers can catch it March 20 on VH1.

The original Heads lineup consists of vocalist David Byrne, guitarist Jerry Harrison, bassist Chris Frantz and drummer Tina Weymouth. The band broke up in 1991.

This reunion concert could come as a shock to many fans, since Byrne attempted to take legal action against the rest of the Heads in 1996, which would forbid them to tour under the name of the Talking Heads. They apparently reached an out of court settlement.

Backstreet Boy gets counseling

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter will undergo counseling and perform community service in response to charges of resisting a law enforcement officer. Carter was involved in an altercation Jan 2. at a Tampa nightclub.

If Carter completes his counseling and community service programs, his charge will be dropped.
