Baylor drops ISU men in Big 12 opener

Tyray Pearson scored 22 points while Jake Sullivan and Marcus
Jefferson
each poured in 15, but it wasn’t enough as the Baylor Bears
snapped the
Cyclones three-game win streak, 79-74.
The loss dropped Iowa State to 8-7 (0-1 in the Big 12) while
Baylor
improved to 11-3.
Omar Bynum added nine points and 13 rebounds but the
Cyclones couldn’t
overcome the Bears 10 three-pointers. Baylor shot 42 percent
from
beyond the
arc (10-of-24.)
John Lucas led the Bears with 16 points on five-of-12 shooting.
As a
team
the Bears made 26-of-53 shots while Iowa State finished at 27-for-
58
(47
percent.)
Iowa State will return home to face No. 17 Missouri on
Wednesday.
