Matthews, `N Sync appearing in Ames
The Iowa State Center has announced that the Dave Matthews Band and `N Sync have been added to Hilton Coliseum’s spring schedule.
`N Sync will perform March 27 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale Feb. 2 at 10 a.m. through all Ticketmaster outlets. They cost $69.50, $59.50 and $47.50, and there is an eight-ticket limit per person. The boy band is touring in support of its latest release, “Celebrity.”
The Dave Matthews Band will take the Hilton stage on April 30 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, which cost $45.50, go on sale Feb. 9 at 10 a.m. through all Ticketmaster outlets. There is a four-ticket limit for floor seats and a six-ticket limit for all other seats.

MTV2 to launch concert series
Some music fans will get the chance to see bands like The Strokes, India.Arie, Alien Ant Farm and others mostly on MTV2’s ticket.
In order to get its name out, MTV2 is offering $2 concerts on the second day of each month for the rest of 2002. The concerts will be located at various venues throughout the United States.
“The `$2 Bill’ concert series is part fan appreciation, part celebration of great live music,” Tina Exarhos, MTV2’s senior vice president of music marketing, said this week. “These special, intimate performances will bring the great new music that MTV2 is known for to key markets across the country.”
