Student charged with stealing equipment

An ISU senior was arrested and charged with four counts of felony theft and one count of possession of burglary tools after police recovered nearly $40,000 worth of stolen media equipment from his apartment and a local storage facility.

Christopher Motter, senior in pre-business, was arrested Dec. 18.

Police found computers, computer components, cameras, multi-media projectors, two-way radios, stereo equipment, electronic test equipment and burglary tools at Motter’s apartment on Coconino Road and a storage space on East Lincoln Way.

Some of the recovered equipment has been linked to Iowa State cases dating back to April 2000.

Associate professor attacked by husband

An associate professor was attacked with a knife by her husband in Black Engineering on Dec. 26.

Li Cao, associate professor of mechanical engineering, received cuts to her fingers, hands and arms during the attack from her husband, Ziyi Dai.

Dai, graduate in business administration, was arrested on charges of willful injury and going armed with intent.
