Regents approve tuition increase

CEDAR FALLS— After little debate, the Iowa Board of Regents approved an 18.5 percent base tuition increase, the second-largest base tuition increase in its history. Iowa State students wil pay an additional 19.4 percent Including mandatory fees Iowa State students will pay beginning in summer session 2002.

Resident undergraduate tuition will increase by $576, making it $3,692. Non-resident tuition will increase by $1,934 for a tuition cost of $12,384. All students will be faced with a $92 fee increase. The total increase in tuition and will create a 19.4 percent increase. Entering students in the Veterinary Medicine program will have to pay a $775 resident, $2,100 non-resident surcharge.
