Student in critical condition after car, motorcycle accident

At 11:58 a.m. Monday, the Ames Police Department responded to a report of a personal injury accident at the intersection of Lynn Avenue and Knapp Street.

A motorcycle driven by Jared Witt, sophomore in pre-business, was traveling west on Knapp Street when it struck a southbound Cadillac on Lynn Avenue.

Richard Holtz, 1005 28th St., was the driver of the Cadillac. He received minor cuts and was released at the scene.

Witt was transported to Mary Greeley Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

The accident remains under investigation.
