Wonder Woman celebrates 60 years

It has been 60 years this month since the debut of the classic comic book character Wonder Woman. To celebrate the event, artist Alex Ross and writer Paul Dini have created a graphic novel called “Wonder Woman: Spirit of Truth.” All proceeds from the book will benefit victims of the Sept. 11 events.

Ross and Dini have teamed up in the past to design tributes to other comic book characters such as Superman and Batman.

Benefit concert to sell as two discs

On Oct. 20, celebrities like David Bowie, Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, The Who and Melissa Etheridge joined for a six-hour charity concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Now the entire performance, which originally aired live on VHI, will be released to the public as a two-CD set called “The Concert for New York City.”

McCartney contributed four songs to the lineup; one of the songs is his latest single, “Freedom.”
