Guitarist Ward leaves Wallflowers

In other partings, guitarist Michael Ward has left the alternative rock group the Wallflowers.

Ward said he wanted to leave the group over a year ago, but the band’s manager wanted him to stay on board for the “Breach” tour.

Ward said his reason for departure was that frontman Jakob Dylan had too much control over the group, especially in song writing.

In the band’s early days, Ward said all of the members shared song writing responsibilities, but Dylan took over.

The Wallflowers have not announced who will take Ward’s place.

New date, place set for Emmy Awards

According to several reports late Tuesday, the Emmy Awards have been rescheduled for Nov. 4. An official announcement is expected today.

The event will reportedly take place at the Schubert Theater in Century City, Calif., near Beverly Hills.

The 53rd Annual Prime-Time Emmy Awards were postponed twice before.

7-Eleven, 311 at odds over T-shirts

The convenience store 7-Eleven issued a cease-and-desist order to the rap-rock band 311.

The order came after the band began selling T-shirts that used the 7-Eleven logo, with the band’s characteristic “3” replacing the “7.”

As soon as it received the order, 311 stopped selling the T-shirts on its tour.
