Concert tickets on sale today
Tickets for three upcoming Maintenance Shop concerts go on sale through Ticketmaster today at 10 a.m.
The show dates, times and prices are:
The Lawrence Arms and Honor System, Oct. 18, 8 p.m., ISU students $5, GA $6
Jack Johnson with Mason Jennings, featuring a special screening of Jack Johnson’s new film, “September Sessions,” Oct. 21, 7:30 p.m., ISU students $12, GA $15
Alkaline Trio, Oct. 28, 7:30 p.m., ISU students $10, GA $12
Although the Memorial Union Ticketmaster outlet accepts cash, check or credit card for M-Shop events, MU Ticketmaster staff advises that having cash ready for first-day sales will help waiting lines move more quickly.
Emmy Awards called off again
Due to the United States’ first air strikes on Afghanistan, the Emmy Awards were called off for the second time in a month. The announcement came Sunday afternoon, just hours before stars were set to arrive in the Los Angeles and New York City event locations.
N’Sync supports Madonna’s label
N’Sync is helping Madonna kick off the Latin arm of her Maverick music label. The group is releasing the Spanish version of “This I Promise You.” The song, called “Yo Te Voy a Amar,” will debut Oct. 30 on “pLATINum rhythm,” a dance collection.
Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Enrique Iglesias and the Backstreet Boys are also contributors to the coming dance album.
