Eyango to speak on women’s roles in war
Vijitha Eyango will discuss women’s roles in war and peace at 8 p.m. tonight in the Sun Room of the Memorial Union.
Eyango will discuss the role of gender in conflict analysis and why women’s roles during conflicts are often limited to that of victims, while their roles in mediation, resolution and post-conflict reconstruction are ignored.
Eyango, project director of the language materials project at UCLA, is the gender and education adviser for the Asia/Near East Bureau of the U.S. Agency for International Development.
