Dave Matthews cancels eight dates
Because of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, the Dave Matthews Band has decided to call off eight dates on the international leg of its current tour.
The band was scheduled to play in Mexico, England and Germany.
In other DMB news, the band released a live disc, “The Dave Matthews Band – Live in Chicago 12-19-98,” Tuesday.
Patriotic album tops charts
“God Bless America,” a Columbia Records compilation album, sold over 181,000 copies in the United States this week, putting it at number one on the Billboard charts.
The disc includes songs from Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, John Mellencamp and Bruce Springsteen.
Both Capitol and Interscope are also reportedly working on patriotic compilation sets.
