IRHA postpones smoking ban vote

The Inter-Residence Hall Association postponed its vote on a bill to ban smoking in the residence halls by Fall 2002. If the bill is passed, the Department of Residence would be willing to construct smoking shelters.

The vote will take place at the Oct. 18 IRHA meeting.

Also discussed at Thursday’s meeting were the newspaper readership program, Order of Rose and Chessman, tuition increases and a possible AccessPlus section to give students access to the names of other students in their classes for study purposes.
