`Beer, Booze and Books’ lecture today

Jim Matthews, author of “Beer, Booze and Books: A Sober Look at Higher Education,” will present a program called “Beer, Booze and Books: A Guide to College Drinking” at 8 p.m. at the Sun Room in the Memorial Union.

Matthews also is the special assistant to the vice president for alcohol and other drug programs at Keene State College in Keene, N.H.

The program will touch on many topics, including acquaintance rape, advertising of alcohol to students, women’s issues and alcohol poisoning.

Matthews is coming to campus in recognition of Student Health Week and National Alcohol Awareness Week.
