Foot litter at its best
October 3, 2001
Central Campus – it’s one of the most beautiful parts of Iowa State. Instead of office buildings and paved parking lots that clutter most university campuses, Iowa State has an open, park-like area everyone can enjoy.
Whether its playing Frisbee, studying or campaniling under the stars, every past and present ISU student has some memory of Central Campus intertwined in their years here.
And now there’s a cowpath going right through the middle of it, a huge, brown scar across the section between the Campanile and the main sidewalk.
Foot litter at its best.
It isn’t limited to Central Campus, either. All over campus, near buildings like Lagomarcino and the courtyard in old Richardson Court Association, dirt paths appear, a result of people too lazy to stick to the sidewalk.
But it isn’t just about laziness.
It’s about taking pride in Iowa State and the campus it calls home. Recognizing a unique aspect of the community and taking care of it so that everyone can appreciate.
Central Campus – enjoy it, don’t litter it.
