International panel of Muslims to speakInternational Muslim students will share their perspectives with a lecture, “Islamic Jihad – Truths and Misconceptions” beginning at 8 p.m. in the Sun Room of the Memorial Union.

Panelists include Ihab El-Kady, graduate student in physics and astronomy from Egypt; Raza Ul-Mustafa, graduate student in electrical and computer engineering from Pakistan; Ahmed Hashim, graduate student in electrical and computer engineering from Sudan; and Gamal Abdel-Azim, post-doctoral associate in animal science from Egypt.

Dennis Peterson, director of International Education Services, will moderate the event.

Traffic surveys on Duff Avenue today

The City of Ames will conduct travel surveys on Duff Avenue from Chestnut Street to 9th Street from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Travel there will be restricted to one lane in each direction.

A random sample of motorists passing through the survey section will be stopped and asked a series of questions regarding the origin, destination and purpose of their trip. The interviews should take less than two minutes to complete. For more information, contact Scott Logan, traffic engineer, at 239-5272.
