There’s a rumor spreading around campus that Iowa is going to beat us this weekend. Early reports indicate odds makers have Iowa favored by 3. What’s even worse is that the momentum is starting to swing back east.

Another rumor that is flying around is that News Channel 13 will be spending the entire week tailgating at Jack Trice Stadium. That’s awesome, as long as they are going for the Cyclones.

They aren’t. News Channel 13 is giving more Hawkeye coverage this year than Cyclone coverage. And why not? Iowa is 2-0; they beat Kent State 51-0 and they beat Miami of Ohio 44-19. They think the Hawks will walk right into Jack Trice and beat Iowa State. To prove this, they had Kirk Ferentz on Sports Soundoff Sunday night.

So, what I am asking each and every Cyclone fan out there to do is to let Channel 13 know that this rivalry will not be won easily. As I walked around campus this morning, I saw signs that said BEAT IOWA. Hopefully Channel 13 has seen this, and will realize how big a rivalry this is. I am asking each and every one of you Cyclone Fans to stop out at Channel 13’s RV and post signs and let them know that they should cheer for the Cyclones. Stop out there between classes, or after classes, and see if we can get them to slide West and root for the Clones this weekend. Let your voice be heard as a Cyclone fan, and hopefully we can win another game this weekend.
