J. Elaine Hieber, senior associate athletics director at Iowa State, has been honored by the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators as its NCAA Division I-A Administrator of the Year.

Hieber has served 21 years at Iowa State. She received both her Bachelor of Science degree and her Master of Science degree from Indiana University.

Hieber is a member of the Executive Board of Directors for the Iowa Special Olympics and serves as Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sport.

Hieber has also been active over the years in a variety of activities as well as serving on various commitees.

The 2001 Administrator of the Year Banquet will be held on Oct. 15 at the NACWAA Fall Forum in Wilmington.
