Courtney Love to play solo in L.A.

After the dissolve of Bastard, her all-female band, Courtney Love is planning to play a few solo dates. On Oct. 27 she will open for Jane’s Addiction in Los Angeles. Ex-Hole drummer Patty Schemel will play backup for Love.

She said she will play mostly new tunes and old Hole material.

Sermon injured after car accident

Hip-hop aficionado Erick Sermon is in stable condition after a car accident in New Jersey. Sermon’s car crashed into a wall after it collided with another vehicle. He is in the intensive care unit, according to hospital spokespeople.

Sermon suffered a broken jaw, a broken leg and head injuries.
