Special traffic safety enforcement today
Law-enforcement agencies will target traffic violations along Interstates 80 and 35 in a special project today.
More than 53 state, city and county agencies have committed more than 300 officers to the project. Agencies will target impaired driving, seat belt and child restraint use, stop sign and stop light violations, speeding and driving without a license.
The goals of the enforcement project are to raise Iowa’s seat-belt use rate from the current 78 percent, reduce impaired driving and prevent fatalities and injuries on Iowa’s roadways.
