Great opportunity
August 30, 2001
It was announced Thursday that the Iowa State football team will kick off their 2002 season against the Florida State University Seminoles at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
This is an excellent chance for ISU fans to make the short trip to Kansas City next year, especially since the Big 12 Basketball Tournament won’t be held there.
The game could be a substantial money-maker for the Athletic Department, something much needed.
There’s a chance it can bring in up to $1 million, significantly more than most bowl games.
The Cyclones will receive national attention going up against a top-notch team that is the epitomy of college athletics.
And the Cyclones will not just be going there for the chance to play FSU; they want to win. So ISU fans need to fill the stadium like they did so many times at the Big 12 tournament.
The decision to play FSU was a good one. It brings opportunity to every one at Iowa State.
Go `Clones.
