Richmond to go to Africa with Vilsack
Provost Rollin Richmond is accompanying Gov. Tom Vilsack on a six-day trip to Africa to talk about advances in food production
The purpose of the trip, which runs Saturday through Friday, is to speak with agricultural leaders in South Africa and Nigeria to increase trade with Africa. Former United Nations Ambassador Andrew Young of the Healthy Harvest Foundation is sponsoring and attending the trip. Vilsack is the first Iowa governor to visit Africa while in office.
Students get sweet start to classes
ISU administrators will be handing out candy and buttons to students during the first two days of classes.
They will be on campus from 9:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside Parks Library and Curtiss Hall.
