Gumby’s robbed early Monday

The Ames Police Department is looking for two suspects after Gumby’s Pizza, 526 Main St., was robbed early Monday morning.

Sgt. Mike Johns, Ames Police Department, said the robbers entered the store at 1:09 a.m. One of the suspects held a handgun while demanding the employees to give them cash.

McCain Rosonke, assistant manager of Gumby’s, said the robbers ripped phones off the wall, took the cash drawer and took a box of money kept in the manager’s office.

Johns said the Ames Police Department is looking for two male suspects.

The robbers were wearing dark clothing with bandanas over their faces.

He said the assailants are between 5’7″ and 5’11” in height.

Johns said he is not sure if these descriptions are enough to come up with any certain suspects.

“We haven’t targeted any suspects yet,” he said.

The amount of property damage and the amount of money taken is still undetermined.

“We’re still in the preliminary stages of the investigation,” Johns said.

No employees were injured during the robbery.

The manager of Gumby’s was not available for comment.
