Tenclinger to bid ISU farewell
Brian Tenclinger, assistant dean of students and director of greek
affairs, has accepted a position as assistant director of student life
at Texas A&M.
His farewell reception will be held in the Dean of Student lounge in
the Student Services Building from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The reception is open to the public.
County sponsors nature activities
Three programs sponsored by Story County Conservation may
interest nature and history lovers of all ages.
An evening prairie walk at Doolittle Prairie Preserve south of Story
City will start at 7 p.m. on July 26.
On July 28 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., participants in “Trail
Tastes” can learn how to identify wild edibles and use them to
prepare several recipes at McFarland Park.
Each Sunday in July from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. there will be an open
house in the Bauge Cabin located in McFarland Park.

Lincoln Center entrance open
This afternoon the new entrance from South Grand Avenue to the
Lincoln Center will be opening.
Also this afternoon, the south lanes of Lincoln Way from Grand
Avenue to Clark Avenue will be closed for pavement
reconstruction. Lincoln Way will remain open with head-to-head
traffic in the north lanes.
Driveways on this portion of the south side of Lincoln Way will be
blocked off, but businesses in this area can be accessed by the
South Grand Avenue, Walnut Avenue or South Third Street
entrances.
Horticulture awards given to students
The Story County Master Gardener Association recently awarded
two $1,000 scholarships for the 2001-2002 school year.
Jeff Calentine, freshman in horticulture, and Nathan Moore, recent
graduate of Ballard High School, were chosen as recipients.
Both men were selected for their commitment to horticulture and
their contributions to their communities through volunteer
activities.
