Golf tournament raises endowment funds
The Lauren Christian Pork Chop Open, a four-person best-shot golf tournament, will be held August 4 at Veekner Memorial Golf Course at 1 p.m.
A reception, dinner and auction will follow at the Farm Bureau Livestock Pavilion at Kildee Hall.
Funds raised from the event will support the Lauren Christian Endowment.
The endowment honors Christian’s work in pork genetics and production, and provides financial support both for students and for swine and pork educational opportunities.
Each four-person team must pay $240 for the tournament, reception and dinner. Cost for the dinner and reception is $30. Registration must be completed by July 27.
For more information, call the Iowa Pork Industry Center at (515) 294-4103.
