Make them an example
July 4, 2001
Blue Jeans Forever, the company that owns Cy’s Roost, Don’s Deli and Lost and Found, may have their liquor licenses revoked due to charges of selling alcohol to minors.
This is not the first time this has happened to Blue Jeans Forever. In fact, this was their seventh violation, some for selling to minors, some for bootlegging.
The company deserves, at the least, to have their license revoked.
Whether or not you agree with a law, it is a law which should be followed. It is gross negligence on behalf of this company to continue to allow such violations to occur.
They need to be held accountable for their actions, and they need to be made an example of for the rest of the Ames bar scene.
One bad apple should not cast a bad reputation onto the rest of the bars, who follow the rules and do their best to curb underage drinking.
We hope Blue Jeans Forever faces the utmost consequences for their actions.
Fine them, revoke their license, suspend them from doing business. Do whatever it takes to ensure the laws continue to be followed.
