Construction on Lincoln Way begins

The first stages of construction on Lincoln Way begin with a project which will give the medians a facelift. The project will take approximately four to five weeks.

A series of seven medians stretching from Beach Avenue to Hayward Avenue will receive plants and new curbs.

Funding for the $125,000 project came from the local option sales tax 2001 budget.

The construction will start at Hayward and move east towards Beach Avenue.

Geoffroy installation ceremony Oct. 6

Gregory Geoffroy, Iowa State’s 14th president, will officially be installed in his new post Oct. 6.

The installation ceremony for Geoffroy will begin at 9 a.m. Oct. 6 in Stephens Auditorium. Following the ceremony, a reception will be held from 11 a.m. to noon in the Scheman Building. Both events are open to the public.

The university community is also invited to meet Geoffroy during an informal ice cream social on central campus from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5.
