Daily excludes greeks
April 25, 2001
Over the past three days you have had some good coverage of Veishea 2001.
What I want to know is where is the coverage of the floats?
Fraternities and sororities spend near $50,000 on these floats and there isn’t even a picture of one in the paper.
Who won? This is ridiculous; those floats are probably one of the biggest parts of Veishea. I didn’t watch the parade to see the Horticulture Club with a bunch of trees on a trailer.
The most time is spent on these floats and they are probably the coolest thing that is in the parade and for The Daily not to print anything about them is a huge slap in the face.
The greek community should be congratulated and thanked for these floats; the parade wouldn’t be the same without them.
The anti-greek Daily should ball up and give thanks where it is due.
Also, I bet you didn’t know that Delta Sigma Phi won both Greek Week and Veishea in the same year.
Not that it matters to you, but I don’t think that has ever happened before.
Just give credit where credit is due, whether it is my fraternity or another.
