I am extremely disappointed with the selections for this year’s TRA Battle of the Bands.

After all, this was an ISU event, and it would have been nice to have more than one band actually from Ames.

It is upsetting that the selection process could be such a disgrace.

There were a lot of Ames bands that wanted to play in the event, but IRHA Director of Special Events Pat Blair was too preoccupied with bands from his home state to let them in.

I mean no disrespect to the Nebraska bands, but is giving priority to Iowa State’s bands too much to ask?

This is the kind of thing that REALLY hurts what struggling local scene exists in Ames.

There are tons of great bands in Ames, but somehow Far Cry was the only one allowed to play in the event.

I think next year there should be the obvious requirement that the bands in the TRA Battle should all be from Ames.

What a great idea.
