Calef wrong on liberals, part II

David R. Rosmann

Well, it seems as if we finally have someone with ALL of the answers to our nation’s problems.

It is obvious Mr. Calef has been brainwashed to believe there is only one side of political thinking that can run this nation the best way. What he needs to remember is that neither side, conservative OR liberal, always do what’s best for our country.

Ronald Reagan just happened to be our president when the farm crisis of the 1980s drove thousands of farmers off the land.

And most people know the story of Watergate and Richard Nixon. Was “America wising up” when Clinton took over the presidency at a time when the economy was struggling? I don’t believe so. I really don’t want to follow Mr. Calef’s direction and point fingers, except at himself.

Mr. Calef bashes everything from finding it ironic that many blacks vote Democratic, to questioning the political choices of environmentalists and Irish-Catholics.

People are free to think and choose for themselves in this country. And it is this freedom which has brought America from a struggling new republic to a very strong world power.

I’m not defending liberals, but rather trying to make a point that one view of politics doesn’t always have every answer.

It’s time Mr. Calef wises up and accepts the fact that each American has his or her own political standpoint.
