Calef wrong on

Keith Twombley

In his March 28 column, “Liberals inconsistent on almost every issue,” Zach Calef attempts to indict liberals on every issue under the sun.

He only succeeds in re-hashing all of the same old tired, already-answered, illogical arguments that conservatives have been muttering since the GOP passed out the “Here’s what to believe” pamphlets during the Reagan years.

With only 200 words at my disposal I can’t begin to do justice to smacking around Calef’s bad argumentation, but I will point out a couple of major problems with his line of reasoning.

Calef is totally misrepresenting several things which liberals traditionally believe in.

Those thoughts on abortion, taxes, capital punishment, school vouchers, drug legalization and environmentalism are NOT the views of intelligent liberals.

They are merely caricatures; straw men built up and knocked down so people like Zach Calef can pretend to be smart.

Not all liberals are guerrilla vegans. Heck, your misunderstanding shows even as you chastise liberalism for having a diverse group of people under its banner!

Here’s some news, Zach: If you believe you have hammered out all of these issues in black and white terms, you are not in a gray area, but sitting in total darkness.
