Talenos.com images hurtful, tasteless

Geoffrey Janes

This is in reaction to an article, “Video on student site offends girl,” which appeared in the Wednesday copy of the Daily.

I’ve always believed that a trait of good journalism is the inclusion of all the facts. This is why I was quite stunned when I read the article about the “Drunk ISU Girls” video.

The Daily’s exclusion of almost all the facts regarding her side of the issue made me sick. I would like to set the record straight.

I had been a fan of the “Drunk ISU Girls” video and even had it shared on my computer at first. However, I changed my mind after a friend told me to check out Talenos.

Apparently the authors decided to take the harassment further than just the video.

The authors had gone out of their way to find many pictures of Mowrer and modified them to harass her further.

The images contained hurtful remarks and were, in my opinion, highly slanderous.

At seeing this, I almost called the Department of Public Safety myself and am glad Mowrer beat me to it.

The authors of Talenos give the Internet a bad name.

They didn’t have the tact and the taste to put up a quality website without hurting the images of other students to the point of harassment.

Perhaps next time the Daily and its editors will get the facts before printing bogus articles.

That way I won’t have to write again, because what would I know about good journalism?
