Apparently, Jesus loves us and stuff

I would like to clarify the point of my letter that published on Monday. Mr. Fuerst seemed to have some problems understanding the meaning of my letter. I understand how someone could take offense to gays being grouped with rapists, drunkards, or prostitutes. These groups were not grouped because they are similar. The author of the song simply chose four groups of people who do things that are commonly considered sinful by the Christian church. He could have chosen bigots, adulterers and nonbelievers. The point of the song was to show that Christ died on the cross so all sins could be forgiven. Romans 6:23 states “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Christ paid the wages of sin. All you have to is believe that and receive the gift from God. Anyone can do it. That’s the point of the song. Aaron Murray
