Regents to discuss catalog, bonds
January 16, 2001
A quick meeting is in store for the state Board of Regents teleconference call meeting Wednesday. The meeting is available for the public to hear in the 117 Beardshear Hall conference room. “We’re expecting it to be a fairly short meeting,” said ISU Interim President Richard Seagrave.”Anything that’s complicated stays off the agenda.”Seagrave said some of the items up for regent approval will include the ISU 2001-2003 Catalog, miscellaneous fees and charges such as course fees and regular monthly personnel transactions. Regent David Fisher also said the biggest item for Iowa State will most likely be the sale and award of dormitory revenue bonds for the Union Drive Association project. The project was approved at the Board of Regents meeting in December.”It’s quite a substantial project for Iowa State,” he said.Regent Roger Lande said he had some issues to examine for the meeting. Lande said he would have to look over the new proposed Classical Studies program at Iowa State to determine whether there is duplication of other programs that should be avoided.Seagrave also said the board will discuss the 2001 legislative session.”We’ll have an update on what the legislature is doing, but that isn’t much yet, since they’ve just started,” he said.
