Practioners can’t kill themselves, it’s against their religion
January 26, 2001
After reading the story about the suicide in Tiananmen Square in the Jan. 24 Daily, I think even though the five persons who set fire to themselves are not instigated, they are definitely not Falun Gong practitioners.Falun Gong practitioners practice their beliefs based on the theories explained in Falun Gong’s primary text “Zuan Falun.”There are detailed explanations about killing in this book and why it is wrong.Below is some abstract about killing from lecture seven on page 254 in the book “Zuan Falun.” This book can be checked out from Parks Library here at Iowa State.”The issue of killing is a very sensitive one. “For practitioners, we have set strict requirements that they should not kill lives. “Whether it is of the Buddha’s School, or of the Taoist School, or of the Qimen School, as long as it is of cultivation practice from the orthodox Fa, it will absolutely prohibit killing lives. “This is for sure. “Because the consequence from killing is too serious, we shall talk about it in detail …”Yinghua Gao
