I want to applaud the Daily editorial board for the first time ever in response to the Ashcroft concession article. I am a Libertarian from the state of Missouri. In the November election I gave up a chance to vote for a good Libertarian friend of mine, Grant Stauffer, who was running for U.S. Senate in Missouri. Instead I voted for John Ashcroft. My parents met John Ashcroft last year and have called and e-mailed him on many occasions asking him to be a voice for certain views in the Senate. He is a very conservative, respect-worthy man. He is also a man of strong values who stands up for what he believes in. I’m glad I voted for Ashcroft for U.S. Senate in Missouri, even though he lost to a guy whose popularity increased after he died. Perhaps is was for the better that he lost, I think he’s going to make a great attorney general.
