GSB to begin allocations

The Government of the Student Body Finance Committee will begin its annual regular allocation process beginning the first week of the spring semester.

Any campus organization that plans to request funding from GSB for the 2001-2002 academic year needs to have representatives at one of three mandatory meetings, Finance Director Steve Medanic said.

The meetings will be:

7 p.m. Jan. 11 in the Sun Room of the Memorial Union.

11:30 a.m. Jan. 16 in the South Ballroom of the Memorial Union.

7 p.m. Jan. 18 in the Campanile Room of the Memorial Union.

Student organizations that received money from GSB fall special allocations may reapply for funding during regular allocations, at which the student government distributes more than $1.3 million in student-fee revenue, Medanic said.

The purpose of these initial meetings is to inform the organization representatives about the funding process and criteria, Medanic said, so the committee can help groups determine whether they are eligible to receive GSB funding.

“This is the first step organizations need to take to get funding,” he said. “I’d love to have groups come to the meetings so we can do the best job of distributing as possible.”
