Letter to the editor: Jerrett arrogant jackass who should think before he writes

In Mr. Jerrett’s article “America can survive the Dubya” he made many arrogant remarks. Early in the article, Mr. Jerrett stated that he “feels sorry for George W. Bush because he is a moron.” First of all Mr. Jerrett, until you can out debate someone of Bush or Gore’s stature, you have no room to make such comments. Next, Mr. Jerrett spoke of Bush’s “self-satisfied smirk” during the debates. Obviously, he must have been able to overlook Gore’s obvious eye-rolling and audible sighs. Mr. Jerrett, do not hypocritically comment on one candidate’s mannerisms without examining the other’s.Mr. Jerrett continued to argue that the race cannot be called before there is a fair and accurate count of the votes. I wonder what it will take for Mr. Jerrett and others to consider the count fair? Gore has already benefit from a Florida Supreme Court ruling that overstepped the bounds established by this nation’s separation of powers. The ruling extended the certification deadline established by the Florida legislature. This allowed for the additional recounts that the Gore team had argued for. However, some people were still unhappy even after the extended certification period. Why? Because Bush still led in Florida’s popular vote. Another ignorant comment made by Mr. Jerrett was his claim that there is no difference between Bush and Gore. He supported this claim by stating that if there was a real difference between the two men, the vote would not have been split so evenly. However, Mr. Jerrett, who are you to say that the voters of this nation were not split over differing views supported by these candidates? I know you write an opinion column, but maybe next time you can more closely examine the issue before sharing your opinion with your readers.
