October 11, 2000
Oklahoma State quarterback Tony Lindsay has been lost for the season according to Head Coach Bob Simmons.
Lindsay, a senior, was having a sparatic year. He has passed for 621 yards so far in 2000 while leading the team to a 2-3 record overall.
OSU Sports Information Director Steve Buzzard said that Lindsay suffered the injury during the spring football season.
Lindsay was suffering pain and had an MRI on the shoulder and it showed damage.
“They decided to clean it out,” Buzzard said.
Lindsay is one of the most prolific passers in Cowboy history. His career totals are 281 passes completed out of 529 thrown.
His 4,002 yards rank him third in school history behind Mike Gundy and Tone Jones.
Lindsay also ranks second on OSU’s all time total offense list. His 5,335 total yards are second only behind Gundy’s 7,749.
Redshirt freshman Aso Pogi will be moved up to the starting position.
