Letter to the editor: Deft jam
October 11, 2000
I admit I am not a big reader of the Daily. However, I did come across your deft piece of editorial writing “We’re Still Better Than Nebraska.”
Instead of congratulating the Cyclones on a well-played game, you chose to berate UNL. I personally take offense to your implication that a degree from UNL means nothing, as that is my alma mater.
Funny how my UNL degree seemed to mean something when I was accepted into graduate schools. Funny how Iowa State thought it was worth enough to pay me to do research here while I complete my PhD.
In my opinion, you have exhibited extremely poor journalistic sense. Although you may have thought yourselves witty, I found the writing rather shallow and childish. You’ve actually got me wondering what a journalism degree from Iowa Sate is worth, but what would I know about that, I’m only a Nebraskan.
