An ISU Christina Hixson scholar remains in the Story County Jail after being arrested and charged with possessing ecstasy, LSD and marijuana.

Lashun Robertson, sophomore in exercise and sport science, was arrested and charged Sunday with delivery of LSD, possession of LSD, delivery of ecstasy and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, said Cpt. Gary Foster of the Story County Sheriff’s Office.

Foster said Robertson, 19, 4606 Ontario, was brought to jail Monday. Bond is set at $75,000.

Cpt. John Tinker, manager of the Central Iowa Drug Task Force, said members of the task force purchased drugs from Robertson on several occasions.

“We had made several undercover buys from him of LSD. Then we had a search warrant, and we found some more LSD and marijuana,” Tinker said.

He said Robertson could face up to 25 years in prison if convicted.

This is the third arrest the task force has made involving ecstasy, Tinker said.

“We haven’t had a lot of [ecstasy and LSD]. We have been working on both the LSD and ecstasy primarily as much as we can,” he said. “We probably recovered a couple hundred of hits of ecstasy so far in the area.”

Robertson was one of 100 ISU students chosen as Hixson Scholars from Iowa. The Hixson award is given to students who have faced personal or financial challenges.

All participants are given a four-year $10,000 scholarship.

Debra Sanborn, the Hixson program coordinator, was out of town and could not be reached for comment.
