FLL department picnic today ISU students majoring in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures have an opportunity to meet with department faculty in a more social setting today. Free hot dogs are being offered to students, along with the opportunity to speak with professors, advisers and local alumni from the department. Madeleine Henry, associate professor and chairwoman of foreign languages and literatures, said the fall picnic is always held on Friday afternoons to make it easier for students to attend. Henry said the picnic will begin at 3:45 today outside of Pearson Hall. In case of rain, she said it will be held on the first floor of the building. “Just look for the grill,” Henry said. – Katie Anderson Arboretum hosts landscape classes The Iowa Arboretum in Madrid is hosting Landscape Construction 101, a guide to constructing pathways and patios beginning Wednesday.
