Letter to the editor: Canada column not funny
September 27, 2000
After reading Tim Paluch’s article on Canada, I couldn’t stop laughing at it’s absurdity! Is this supposed to be a joke? First of all, to say “those filthy, dirty, bottom-feeding Canadians” is a bit hypocritical when it’s followed by “America’s foundations and traditions derive from killing people and making money.” This makes Americans sound like filthy animals! Secondly, who has any right to say where people want to live? “Who the hell wants to live in a small-town atmosphere?” Well, I’m fairly confident that the 600 people in my small home town do. Take a look around the Midwest! Sure, it’s not for everyone, but neither is the city. And lastly, I would like to comment on the question: “Where’s the testosterone?” It sounds like somebody’s trying to make up for the lack of his with guns and violence. Well, I’m sorry, but those things won’t make you a man. Wake up and open your mind! While the United States is a wonderful place to live, it’s not the only one. Crystal Pueggel
