Whitcomb speaks at Iowa State Modern creationist theory leader George C. Whitcomb will be giving four lectures for the Ames and ISU community this weekend. The first lecture will at 8 tonight in Room 127 of Curtiss Hall. He also will speak at 9:30 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday at Curtiss. The Campus Bible Church, 130 S. Sheldon Ave., will also host Whitcomb Sunday. Lectures will be held at 9:15 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. and will focus on the Bible and the creationist theory. – Andrea Hauser Target offers free shuttle The Ames Target will offer a free bus shuttle from the west entrance of the Memorial Union to their store, 320 S. Duff Ave., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The shuttle is designed to get students to and from Target to shop for dorm, apartment and daily essentials. It will pick up and drop off students every hour on the hour. The first 300 students to participate will receive a gift bag of samples including a highlighter, fabric softener, snacks, hair products and more. The first 100 participants will also get a vinyl backpack. – Kati Jividen Concert kicks off Carillon Festival 2000 The Stanton Memorial Carillon is being commemorated this weekend during a celebration sponsored by the ISU Department of Music. The Carillon Festival 2000 begins today with a 5 p.m. carillon recital by ISU Carillonneur Tin-Shi Tam. Saturday’s events will include a carillon seminar at 1:30 p.m. in Room 130 by guest carillonneur Beverly Buchanan. At 3 p.m., Buchanan will give a carillon recital, and campanile tours will be at 4 p.m. A family concert 2 p.m. Sunday will wrap up the festival.
