The information in the log is obtained from Department of Public Safety reports released to the Daily. All those accused of violating the law are innocent until proven guilty in court.

July 10

* During a routine traffic stop on South Fourth Street, a juvenile female driver was found to be driving with a restricted license. A parent was contacted, and the vehicle was towed from the street.

* Kirk Schmaltz, 2303 Hayes Ave., reported that while his vehicle was parked at the Memorial Union ramp on July 1, an unknown vehicle struck it on the passenger side. Damage was estimated at $1,300.

* A staff member at the Swine Research Farm, XL Ave., Boone County, reported observing an unknown person in an unauthorized area of the research farm.

* Young-Kil Shin, 343 Durham Center, reported the loss or theft of a wallet and contents at Durham Center.

* A sign and post were broken off near the entrance of the Veterinary Medicine complex. Damage was estimated at $800.

* Daniel Johnson, 3393 Friley Hall, reported the theft of his mountain bicycle from a bicycle rack near Friley Hall. Estimated loss was $240.

* Robert Brecht, Gilbert, reported someone walked on his vehicle and put dents in it while it was parked in Lot A1. Estimated damage was $500.

* During a routine traffic stop on Lynn Avenue, Kellie A. Rutzen, 34, 398 S. 500th Ave., was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Rutzen was arrested and charged with third-offense operating while intoxicated.

July 11

* During a routine traffic stop at Lincoln Way and Stanton Avenue, Reginald Buchanan, 39, 4731 Toronto St., was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Buchanan was arrested and charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated.

* Staff in Pearson Hall reported the theft of an H.P. CPU from Room 109 of Pearson Hall. Estimated loss was $730.

July 12

* During a routine traffic stop at Mortensen Parkway and Pinion Drive, David Thilges, 27, 225 N. Sheldon Ave., was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Thilges was arrested and charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated.

* Andrea M. Breckenridge, 18, 3465 Friley Hall, was cited for being in possession of alcohol while under the legal age at Lincoln Way and Ash Avenue.

* An ISU staff member reported that a table leg was broken off a table in Room 129 of Ross Hall. Estimated damage was $50.

* A car struck a mini-van in Lot 57. There were no injuries. The investigation is continuing.

* A student’s mother reported that her daughter had not yet returned home. She was called out of her class in Hamilton Hall earlier in the day and left with an acquaintance. The student returned home later in the evening.

July 13

* An officer observed a man driving who had been arrested several days prior for a revocation-related offense. Subsequent checks revealed the driver’s status had not changed. Leonardo Roberto, 20, 3014 Oakland St., was arrested and charged with driving while revoked.

July 14

* During a routine traffic stop on South Fourth Street, Sadie G. Shelton, 23, 5910 W. Lincoln Way, was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Shelton was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated.

* Apsornsawan Arwatchanakarn, 128D University Village, reported that her wallet was taken from her bookbag while she was working at the dining center in Friley Hall.

July 15

* During a routine traffic stop in Lot 60, Steven Bill, 27, 126 Beedle Drive, was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Bill was arrested and charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated.

* During a routine traffic stop at Stanton Avenue, Shaun Campbell, 21, 428 Stonehaven Center, was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Campbell was arrested and charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated.

* Two juvenile females reported being harassed by a man in the stairwell of the Lied Recreation Center.

* During a routine traffic stop on Welch Avenue, Brett Caddell, 31, 925 Burnett Ave., was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Caddell was arrested and charged with second-offense operating while intoxicated.

* A cellular telephone was found in the Iowa State Center parking lots. The owner was located, and the cellular telephone returned.

July 16

* During a routine traffic stop at Ash Avenue and Lincoln Way, Jason J. Wanning, 26, Council Bluffs, was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Wanning was arrested and charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated.

* During a routine traffic stop at Knoll Road and Lincoln Way, Darrin R. Pruismann, 29, Jewell, was found to be driving while his license was revoked. Pruismann was charged with driving while revoked.

* Staff reported that someone forced entry into a pop cooler on the second-floor hallway of Beyer Hall. Estimated damage and loss was $165.

* Uriel Campos, Schilletter Village, reported that while his vehicle was parked near his apartment, someone entered the vehicle and stole a radar detector and damaged the glove compartment. Estimated damage and loss was $110.

* A person approached a DPS officer with a case containing a number of CDs that had been found in Lot 60. The case and CDs were placed in evidence storage.
