Bevin chosen as interim director of ISU women’s center
Nancy Bevin has been named interim director of the Margaret Sloss Women’s Center, effective immediately.
Bevin, 3212 Woodland St., graduated from Iowa State in 1989 with a Ph.D. in education. She had served as a temporary assistant professor in educational leadership and policy studies.
Bevin also acted as a coordinator/facilitator for the Vision 2020 (Kellogg) Project: “Living Well in Place.”
In her new duties as center director, Bevin will provide advocacy, referral services and programming to the ISU community. She will also be responsible for coordinating women’s programs and celebrations.
Pamela Thomas, former director of the center, will depart from Iowa State July 28.
She will become the assistant dean and director of intercultural affairs at Hobart and William Smith College, Geneva, N.Y.
The search for a permanent director will begin in September.
